The NJ SEEDS Alumni Program is designed to serve graduates of the Scholars, Young Scholars and College Preparatory Programs. The Office of Alumni Relations provides tailored programming for middle school, high school and college-aged students. Events include college admissions and financial aid workshops, college fairs, an annual Senior Dinner for students graduating from high school, and an annual Summer Reunion.
The Alumni Relations Office also connects students with prestigious nonprofit and corporate internships, summer job opportunities, travel abroad programs, awards, and grants. Select alumni are invited to intern at our campus sites and at the SEEDS Center in Newark. SEEDS alumni have interned at Goldman Sachs and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU); have studied in Rome and Buenos Aires; and have worked for the UN High Commission on Refugees and the US Election Assistance Commission.
All SEEDS alumni are invited to participate in the SEEDS Alumni Summer Leadership Institute, a four-year, cutting-edge program for students in high school. Each summer module has its own theme, ranging from Democracy in Action to Money Musts. Through the Institute, students have met prominent leaders in politics, media, and business; have toured the studios of NBC, CNN and Sirius Satellite Radio; and have debated such topics as immigration and
national security.
Alumni Relations staff regularly travel the country visiting SEEDS graduates at their independent secondary schools and colleges. Staff also meet with deans, teachers and guidance counselors. The Alumni Relations staff are in regular communication with hundreds of students, faculty and school personnel.
